The Plus-Size Clothing Trends Set to Reign 2019
Posted on March 01 2019
Every year, we look out for seasonal fashion trends, hoping for new pieces that will work well with our favourite staples. As many a plus-size woman will tell you, following trends and actually finding them is a different story. Fashion trends simply aren’t as accessible to us when it comes to a lot of stores, and there’s been countless times where we get our hopes up over a new trend, only for it to stop at size 14 in most brands.
As firm followers of all things fashion, we’ve done our research and found the colours, cuts and styles you can expect this year, and guess what? At Swish fashion, we provide plus size clothing in Australia, designed to flatter your silhouette in all the right places.
Luckily for you ladies, we’ve got you covered. Keep scrolling for the trends set to make an appearance on both the runway, and your night out on the town.
This year, the focus on ‘natural fabrications’ will only heighten. It’s all about whimsical ruffles, crisp whites and sandy nude colour palettes in light materials. By natural fabrics, we’re referring to light linens, cottons and straw accessories. From the trims to your accessories, this is one of our favourite trends, perfect for plus size clothing. Our textured linen frill top in crisp white linen is a dreamy combination set to take you right from Summer through to Spring.
It’s all about animal print, and it has been for the last few seasons. Snake print has been at the forefront of runways and stores all over the globe, and this season it’s here to stay. Classic leopard prints will make a strong comeback too – olives, mustards and chocolate tones are out to play and our plus size dresses follow suit. Just check out the Totally Animal Cami Dress for a flattering floaty fit with a fierce print.
Less is More
If you aren’t feeling the standout print trends, you’re in luck. Minimalism is in. We know what you’re thinking - it’s always been in, but 2019 welcomes with it the idea of a ‘feminine minimalism’. As plus size ladies, we’re moving away from being limited to plain stretchy fabrics. Let’s combine plain clothing in various textures and mix and match. A basic cotton cami top will become magic thrown over plain linen pants – simple, easy, and comfortable, what’s not to love?
Think neon pops of colour and brave, bold, bright hues that scream confidence. If you’re nervous about braving the neon trend, stick to timeless pieces in a neon hue of your choice. Fuchsia pink works particularly well on most skin tones, and the Hibiscus Text Jacket is one of our favourites for the upcoming season.
Head to Swish for a wide range of plus size clothing, to suit every kind of curve.
